Blue Lakes Waterfall: White River National Forest – Breckenridge, CO ❤️❤️❤️❤️

8/22/2022: This is a very pleasant little hike that follows an old road that runs along the lake shore and bordered with forest on the opposite side. You will need to cross the creek at the end of the lake early on, and it can be tricky. See the Trail Map. The hike to the falls is nothing to write home about, but the falls are pretty and the lake itself is gorgeous.

• 1.2 miles roundtrip – Kid Friendly but watch stream crossing and drop-offs near falls.
• Difficulty: Easy (except for stream crossing. See Trail Obstacles.)
• Elevation range: 11374' to 11435' gross: +129'
• Traffic: Moderate
• Getting There: The road to the trailhead is rutted and bumpy. Might be hard for 2WD drive cars. Take your time.
• Trail Obstacles: Crossing the stream early on can be a bit tricky. Trekking poles can help you stay on the rocks in the stream. About 10 yards wide, shallow and rocky. Pick your way across cautiously. Waterproof boots might come in handy.
