One of the many views in Snow Canyon
10/19/2020: By taking this hike, or parts of it, you will see some of the most beautiful views in Snow Canyon State Park. We did not do this exact trail (as described on Alltrails or Hiking Project), but we did more of a superset. There are several entry points and offshoots to explore. Use a good map or your GPS and take any trail that looks interesting – there are a lot of them. Take Sheer rhyolite cliffs are beautiful! The petrified dunes are a photographer’s dream, I would think. Lava tubes are cool. This is another must-do near St. George. You will run into some heavy sand on the trails. plenty of water; you’re in the desert.
Marg’s Notes: Snow Canyon State Park. Started hiking ~9:30 am. On advice from a person in the Ranger Office we made a loop of several trails. This had us walking thru lots of different sights. We went on the Hidden Pinyon trail to Red Sands, to Lava Flow, to Butterfly to Petrified Dunes back to Hidden Pinyon. Really neat hike. 4.5 miles. The Petrified Dunes were really cool. We saw lots of people. We had lunch, then hiked the Johnson Canyon Hike. 1.97 miles. It was really nice, into a box canyon.
