Aug 13, 2025: Honaunau Bay (aka Two Step Beach)

August 13 (Day 5 – Honaunau Bay (aka Two Step Beach)):Today we went to Honaunau Bay (aka Two Step Beach) We got in the water about 9:00. It wasn’t too crowded yet. Parked in the lot for $5. We were the 2nd car there. Entry was easy! Lots of colorful fish. Coral was bleached but I saw some bright healthy polyps. Swam around for ~1.5 hours. Getting out was easy too, but more people. We chatted with a couple who live here part time. They had been to Raja Ampat & stayed where we are going! They like Palau the best of places they had been. Back to clean up, eat & rest. At 1:30 we had consented to go to the sales pitch…our person was very nice & so was the facility, but it is one of the last things we want! Won’t to it again. Not too hard a sales pitch but wasted 2 hours. Then to Walmart for Tonic H2O & chips! Back for dinner!
